we are all puppets, holding our own strings...but when we try to cut ourselves loose...in rush...that's when we lose...

okay, well when you but them all together its a lot better than weird expressions here and there. i told you what i dont like already. it looks like the string can't be cut. firat it's like "oooh, scizzors!" then "oh no, i think i hear someone comming." then "it's not cutting!!" and then dispair...so perhaps there is something missing but nonetheless nothing should be added between 3 and 5. great job.

there is something missing... I didn't put the image that explains my reason of not being able to cut the ropes... because I wanted viewer to think about their own reason and place it in between 3 and 5... because this piece is not completely personal.. it is just based on personal experience.. but I know that it is common... but I see what you mean... maybe I should create another image to encourage viewer to imagine... thank you very much.. I shot this scene again to highlight the scissors and solve some other issues... but I didnt like them that much... But I will keep shooting it until I get it perfect... I didn't pay much attention to jewlery, but you are absolutely right... Need to take them off... Thank you for that... well... thank you very very much for your constructive criticism which helped me a lot to see my mistakes... thank you...

"we are all puppets, holding our own strings...but when we try to cut ourselves loose...in rush...that's when we lose... "

keep in mind though that you shouldn't let someone else control yourself/strings, as people, drugs can do that!

But it is always more difficult to admit that you are a puppet when you are the one who controls the strings... :)

Interesting series, creative and unique as usual.
We are who we are and the stings
bind us but also hold us together. Can we change and let
go the strings, probably, but that is a huge step out of our
comfort zones.

i like it. i think you did very well with it. each one is aesthetically pleasing and they flow very nicely. your expressions are also done well. i think frames 1 and 3 are the best in that sense. the right arm is very crucial to these photos, i think. by keeping it hanging in that awkward manner in all four photos you really maintain and strengthen the puppet imagery that is represented here.

viewing it in continuum is unique. to me it seems like frame 2 shows a realization that the problem is bigger and more urgent than initially thought in frame 1, which leads to desparation in frame 3.

i don't quite understand why we fail (lose) at frame 4. i mean, for me, personally, i sort of understand why I lose when it comes to my own frame 4, but i mean to say that i don't understand how that is represented here. somewhere between frames 3 and 4 it seems like something must go on to cause failure since we look so close to escape in frame 3. or is that in between time left for me to interpret?

i like this though. interesting that you submitted all its parts so quickly.

but hey... good job.

ps - by commenting again i've shown myself once more that it gets easier to break a rule after the first time.

well first of all I had this piece ready for over a week now... my scanner broke so I couldn't scan them for a long while. then I remebered that I had a digital camera.. So I shot my prints with the digital cam (a good way to use your digicam ;p )... about the missing piece in between 3&4: I didn't want this piece to be personal... Of course I have my reasons... but if I put my reason in this series than it would be my puppet. I wanted this to be more than just me... I wanted this to relate to everybody. So everybody can place their own piece in between 3&4

dang... sorry about the scanner. that must be really frustrating. way to be clever, though.

that's nice how you did that, left the space open for all of us. very cool.

Like I've said about the first one. I love the concept, but I'm not a fan of the colors. Keep up the good work.

i've always wanted to do a marionnette image with a big hand over me working my strings - this rules and you continue to inspire me with your everyman images that are so very original and stretch across race, color, age - just fantastic human work you do
