I like the concept and the way it's taken. The only problem I have with this photo is the background. Seeing a picture frame behind them makes this look a bit unprofessional. Maybe that was intentional but, to me, it makes it a lot less atmospheric.

Try shooting this with a different background! =)

I actually felt bad for the wooden mannequin in the background. Then I remembered it was a wooden mannequin.

personally, i thought it was a good choice of b/g as (presumably) you are portraying a "family unit", so would expect it to be set in a domestic environment. as you have limited the DoF it has thrown the b/g out of focus so the characters are not lost in it.

just my opinion...

this is so expressive (god, have I felt like this a million times in the past). I love how the figure in the background is not really blurry, only slightly out of focus in comparison to the other two figures. I think it's important that it not be too blurry. :D
